Today we went to Shipley Bridge, so that I could map the walk for my new Accessible Walks page. We had done less than half a mile, when my buggy lost power. After a few checks we decided to return to the van. We put the tow rope on, disengaged the motor and headed back to the car park.
I considered phoning Tramper, to try and resolve the problem with my buggy, but we both had no phone signal. We made it back to the van, with no major problems. As the reason for the visit was to map the two routes to the dam. Gill suggested that I go up to the Dam, and back on her buggy with the GPS to record the routes for my Accessible Walks page.
The owner of the Manor House lost his daughter in a horse riding accident, in the early 1900’s. There used to be a pond, in front of the Memorial Stone which is almost hidden by the Rhododendrons.
It took me just over the hour to do the two routes up to the Dam and back. By time I got back it was lunch time so we sat in the van for our picnic lunch. Not quite the same as finding a nice spot on the open moorland. At least it was not a wasted journey, as I had the walk recorded on my GPS.
Just to bring you up to date I spoke to tramper, and it was just a case of wiggling a cable linked to the throttle, so the buggy is working fine now.
