Exeter Quay to Station Road Exwick

This is a nice easy Level One route, alongside the River Exe and the Flood relief channel.  Starting at Exeter Quay, heading north towards Station Road Exwick. But there are several places you can start the Ramble.

Location : Exeter

Starting Point : Exeter Quay

OS Grid Reference :  SX920921

Distance : 3 Miles

Route Surface : Tarmac and Concrete

Category : Level 1

I started the ramble at Exeter Quay following the concrete walkway on eastern side of the river. Then up to the road just below Mill on the Exe, taking the footbridge over the Exe and the flood relief channel. Here taking the footpath on the western side of the Flood Relief Channel, as far as Station Road.

The Footbridges near the Mill on the Exe

From Station Road turn back and follow the cycle path, around the edge of Exwick playing fields. After passing the Exeter Chiefs Academy go under the railway line, following the cycle path back to the footbridges opposite Mill on the Exe. Here take path on the western side of the river, passing under Exe Bridges. Then take the footbridge back over the river, to the Quay. There is limited disabled parking opposite the Custom House, on the Quay. Also there is a small car park on Station Road
