Today, we decided to go to Exmouth for Fish & Chips, doing the journey on the buggies. From home it is 11.5 miles to the Exeter Road chippie, which with a coffee stop on the way takes just under 3 hours. With a keen head wind the journey to Exmouth, was quite cool compared with earlier in the week.

We tried a different Chippie for us, called The Proper Fish & Chips and we really enjoyed them.We found a seat in the Manor Gardens, in partial shade, sheltered from the wind.

After lunch we made our way along the footpath behind the Pavilion and the Cricket Club. Then up Foxholes Hill, to join the Coast Path towards Sandy Bay. Once up on the cliffs we were exposed to the full force of the wind. As the track is a bit uneven with quite a gradient, we decided to turn around at the Geoneedle,  to conserve battery for the return journey.

On the way home we joined the Promenade by the Lifeboat Station, making our way through the crowds to the Harbour. With the strong onshore wind the beach was deserted, with every one just walking around.

We stopped in Lympstone by the harbour, for afternoon tea, again finding shelter from the wind. For the homeward journey we had a tailwind, so we both felt warmer, even when it clouded over.

Although we had less than two miles to home, we stopped for another drink over looking the damaged Salmon Pool Weir. We left home about 0945am  to return at 1800pm, covering a distance of 28.4 miles.
