Exmouth to Lympstone

This ramble is at the top end of an easy route at 5 miles in distance. But one of our group reconnoitring the route for Devon County Council, managed the route ok on her small shopping mobility scooter.

Location : Exmouth

Starting Point : Long Stay Car Park behind Exmouth Railway Station

OS Grid Reference : SX999812

Distance : 5 miles

Route Surface : Asphalt with a couple of sections of Boardwalk

Category : Level 1

This is a route is suitable for all types of scooter and power chair, providing they have the battery range to cope with the five miles. The route follows the Exe Estuary Trail cycle route, out of Exmouth to Lympstone.

While in Lympstone we went up onto the bridge at the Station, just to see that the small scooter could cope with the gradient of the hill from the Swan Inn up to the bridge.

As the weather was a grey damp day, we did not explore Lympstone, retracing our route after a comfort stop back to Exmouth. This is one of the rambles that will be on the Devon County Council website, under their accessible walks section.
