Today, Tuesday we met at Fingle Bridge, for a Dartmoor Walking Festival final reconnoitre. There were 7 of us on scooters, with 5 walkers to accompany us.

We did the loop up to the Fort, in an anti-clock wise direction, as it is a more gradual accent. Which is a lot easier for both the scooters and walkers, as the decent back to the river is very steep.

The objective was to finalise the circular route, from Fingle Bridge to Wooston Hill Fort. We stopped at the Hill Fort for an early lunch break, as it gives us such lovely views, and it was lovely and warm today but not too hot.

The Woodland Trust have put out a lot information and photos, which give details of their plans. The main aspect being to remove the Conifers, replacing them with native broadleaf species.

I will be adding the route to my Accessible Walks page, as a level 3 due to the steep accent and even steeper decent.

As we arrived back at Fingle Bridge early, Gill and I went out again and did the track to Clifford Bridge, so that I could map the route with my GPS. This was to add to my website as a Level 1 route.

Gill and I changed our location for our evening meal, by going to the Swans Nest, which was a very good meal as usual.
