Today 5 WAGs group members on mobility scooters, accompanied by 3 walkers. Also 3 members of staff from Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA), joined us for a photoshoot at Haytor Quarry and Smallacombe Rocks.

It was a damp drizzly day most of the time, but the sun shone for a short time. Most of the Photoshoot took place in Haytor Quarry, as the DNPA want to promote the Miles Without Styles Walks that they are putting on their website

The route from the Quarry to Smallacombe Rocks, is very difficult, at one point the camber caused me to tip over on my 3 wheeler. It was the cambers that caused most of the problems, for all the buggies, I saw Gill on 2 wheels a couple of times.

We were able to sit in the lee of Smallacombe Rocks for lunch, which sheltered us from the wind and drizzle. On our way back the DNPA staff left us at the Quarry, and we went up to Haytor Rock. It was still early and the drizzle had eased, so we decided to explore around Haytor Rocks.

While the paths are littered with lumps of granite, we are able to get round them easily. The main problem are the cambers, but at least this time I managed to stay upright, with the help of one of the walkers. Gill and I being creatures of habit we finished the day off with a meal at the Twisted Oak.
