Favourite Pubs reached on our Trampers

We have 4 Pubs that we go to on our Trampers from home. The first one the Puffing Billy at Exton, this is the longest journey of the 3. This is a 14 mile round trip, using the Exe Estuary through Countess Wear and Topsham on the eastern side of the river. . We have always had good food and service.

The second one is the Swans Nest at Exminster, this is a 11.5 mile round trip. Again we use the Exe Estuary Trail / Exeter Canal towpath. But this time we are on the western side of the river. We have always had good food and service.

The third one is the Travellers Rest ( Whitstone ). On the old A30 heading to Pathfinder. The route we take on the buggies is via Nadderwater and Pound Lane. This a round trip of 7.8 miles which is safer as there is less traffic. We have always had good food and service.

The final one is the closest to home for us, being the Twisted Oak at Ide,  with a round trip of less than 5 miles which ever way we go.  Again we cannot fault with the food or the service.

While Gill and I are able to walk short distances, all 3 are able to cater for Wheelchair users. Having level access and the room within each of the buildings for wheelchairs to manoeuvre.
