Day Three

For day 3 we met at Challacombe Farm, for a very informative history lesson. If you know what to look for, there is evidence of human activity going back 5000 years. Today was a grey overcast day, so completely different to the 2 previous days.

Setting off from Challacombe Farm towards Headland Warren Farm

Today there were 7 mobility scooters and 10 walkers, for the route around Challacombe Farm and Soussons Woods.

Today Farmer Mark was able to accompany us for the whole walk, the information and details he was able impart was fantastic.

Day Four

Day four was a Level One ramble, starting at Clearbrook, using Drakes Trail. In the Morning we headed south to the Lieghbeer Tunnel, whilst they were digging the tunnel they found a seam of copper. So there is a small mine tunnel heading east, from the railway tunnel which runs north / south.

This was billed as a level 1 easy route, but turned into a level 2 with a distance of 7.8 miles. This was not a problem on the day, as all the scooters were capable of the distance.
